In what would otherwise be a good game, this game suffers dramatically from not having any save slots. If you click "new game" from the menu without warning it overwrites your current quest. I was probably 10 hours in when I discovered this gem of a feature.
Straight off the SNES and onto your iPhone, Elven Chronicles is a limited but fun piece of gaming nostalgia. While the story is decidedly lackluster, the games old-school feel makes up for it. Is it worth a dollar? Absolutely. I got at least 0.99 worth of enjoyment out of it. How much you enjoy it will be decided by your patience for level grinding.
This game was worth the $3.99 I bought it for. I played it a ton and it is terribly addicting. However, it was a bit of a frustration (better after 1.1) Recommended it if you like basic RPGs and arent looking for anything to complex (FF 1-3ish) It would crash at random, and this was miserable before the autosave feature. Also now that I finished the main story, there is no reason to touch it again. No motivation for getting anything else, because there isnt anything else to get. The enemies were very easy and I leveled far faster than they did. It was a walk in the park with very linear armor/weapon progression, and customization was pointless because you were with so few options and the desired effects were hardly improvements. Some of my quests dead ended to and i am unable to finish them. Basically, with another patch and expansion, this game is going to be great. I really liked it for what it was, even with all this little faults. It kept me opening the app every free chance I had.
After receiving a quest if you save in a quest area as shown on the map, then quit the game for any reason (getting a call, random crashes and dying/loading your save included) that quest bugs out and can no longer be completed. If you get frequent phone calls, skip this game.
Doesnt tell what your supposed to do no storyline and graphics are totally bad
Was really getting into the game. But now whenever I win a battle, the game turns off. Booooo!!!!! Good game for .99 please fix
Its fun but sometimes the game just freezes on me. The game is fun but needs some fixing on the lagging.
Very smooth game play, Alot like the Final Fantsys for GB. Save any time feature is very handy. Nice graphics, and the music isnt anoying lol. Very good game, why more people havent found this idk.
Good game and its really easy. Downside is that it freezes during combat which is really annoying. I have to save after every battle to make sure i dont lose any progress. Please send an update to fix this bug!
Terrible game I only played 10 mins,than done(lost intersing)
Great fight elements. Reminds me if old final fantasy. Really happy with this purchase. The move controls are a little sticky, but nothing to bad. Itd be nice to see a few of these additions though: -a more thought out map. Im always having a difficult time reading that thing. Its almost useless. -maybe a third hero? Someone who is pure physical,(as opposed to Rogan whose more half element, half physical like a monk fighter whose physical abilities surpass rogans? Or maybe someone who can summon allys like in final fantasy? -lower the cost of potions! You can only sell them for 25 and you have to buy them for 200! And you always get magic water! Ive found 50 magic waters and only about 20 healing herbs. -have areas with more then one difficulty level. Its annoying going through 3 screens of green tornadoes /: These are just some suggestions! Happy gaming! C-hall-drum
You would think that the app store would be flooded with turn based RPGs considering the iPhone/Touch doesnt have buttons but no...devs like Square Enix have not jumped on board to port the classics...yet (Fingers crossed for FF series). EC is a nice treat, despite having a medicore storyline and dumbed down character customization. This game proves that the iPhone/Tpuch can truly handle this type of game. IMO, the graphics are better than Zenonia (not blurry like youre drunk). Hopefully, we will see a sequel or at least some better made clones in the future.
Very Fun! Requires perseverence though. I played for a long time!
needs some minor fixes, like improved balance to combat, and would be nice to have more than two characters. but overall a decent game
Excellent game with several hours of gameplay
This game is just awful gameplay is dull and not fun. If you want a real rpg turn based game vay is your answer.
**EDIT: There has been absolutely no effort on devs side to fix the dull gameplay, repetitiveness, customization, or character development... actually, wait, no effort on the devs side at all. I saw a new game came out from this company, and I am forever boycotting them. This game was a terrible let down and there was no effort to bring it up to its potential. **Watch out for this company.** Go spend your hard earned money on Vay for turn based rpg, dungeon hunter for a diablo-esque rpg, or hybrid for an action rpg. Thank you. Pros: Decent combat - *no longer fun after 2 hours of grinding.... Random maps Numerous spells/abilities Cons: Combat against enemies your own level too easy. Absolutely no customization of characters, items, or abilities. Items do not change your appearance at all. The entire game is basically grinding. Overall: Provides moderate fun in about 10minute sessions, but other than that the grinding is just unbearable. Combat is too easy, especially with the auto heal out of combat. You cant spend any skill or stat points and I dont think there are any other than hp/mp. Also there isnt any sort of plot to speak of. Youre basically just thrown into grinding, and thats it. Update: Devs still have not fixed anything. The quality of this game is pretty upsetting. One update could fix its problems easily... Still waiting on it...
I adore the overall look & color scheme. But I am very dissapointed that far less time was spent attending to those details that make for fun game play: -Virtual stick or pad (mostly transparent & movable)!!! -Landscape mode!!! -Multiple save slots -Detailed maps -Hidden items -Enemies that move (even a little) -Eats up battery life at a very high rate (even for a video game) I do, however, absolutely reccomend this game for casual RPG players. Very experienced players may get bored & frustrated. It is definately one of the best looking games available & a steal for $1. A few fixes would make it truely awesome. Bring on the updates!
The game is fun, though would help if I knew where to go.
